In this photo project, I explored the streets of the 16th arrondissement of Paris late at night. The area, known for its affluence, has a hidden duality. Despite the grandeur of the neighborhood, there was a stark contrast beneath the surface.

Many of these beautiful buildings still retained their old servants quarters, now converted into little apartments. Some even still without indoor plumbing and the inhabitants have to share a toilet in the hallway.

These quarters were nestled and tucked away within these magnificent and ornate buildings, highlighting the disparity between appearances and living conditions. Nearby, Bois de Boulogne, a park played host to Longchamps’ annual horse competitions, is also where sex workers cruise for clients at night.
